How We Work
We give people more time for what's important. That means we do the hard work that takes up a lot of their time and energy so they can focus on what they want. It's not easy. Here's the 3 main challenges.
Challenge 1: Hard Physical Work
Cleaning houses is hard work. This is a very physical job. Your muscles will be sore and tired until they get used to the demanding physical exertion and new methods/speed of cleaning. Add to that; very hot homes with no AC, Cat and Dog allergens, Dust, Kneeling, Bending, Squatting, Up and down stairs, the list goes on. If you have any pre-existing injuries or health issues this job may not be for you.
Qualities you'll need:
Work ethic (Conscientiousness): You are not afraid of a little hard work and you feel good at the end of the day when you know you've done your best to help someone and get the job done. Plus, you're basically getting paid to exercise!
Challenge 2: Driving
Driving is a big part of the job at Green Frog. We spend about 20% of our work day driving around San Diego County. This can be stressful with all the traffic and parking, especially in downtown or stuck on the 15 highway during rush hour! Add to that the wear and tear on you car. If you don't like driving or don't want to use your car this job is not for you.
Qualities you'll need:
Positive Attitude: What's a little traffic? Put on some tunes/audio book, crank the AC, and enjoy. Now you're getting paid to enjoy listening and sitting in comfort!
Challenge 3: Inconsistent Paycheck
In our business scheduling happens. Some days clients cancel. And some weeks we have so much work we don't know what to do. That's makes our paychecks bigger or smaller. Since our pay is based on performance, if we perform poorly or call out sick we will get paid less that week. For example, in a recent week one tech made $215 while another tech made $895! Did they have a few sick days? Did the client cancel? We don't know, but it happens. If you need the same pay every week in order to make ends meet this job may not be for you.
Qualities you'll need:
Honesty: Are you giving this job your all? If you make an honest effort to show up to work every day and really "Show Up", that is give it a full honest effort, you will be successful. You can have a much more consistent paycheck.
